Invisalign is a clear aligner system that moves teeth using a series of custom-fabricated, removable trays rather than fixed brackets and wires. Each tray is worn for one to two weeks and gradually shifts the teeth toward the next planned position, with the full sequence designed in advance through digital treatment planning. The aligners are made from a medical-grade thermoplastic that fits closely over the teeth, making the appliance significantly less visible than traditional braces.

Treatment at Garrison Orthodontics begins with a digital intraoral scan and a review of the patient's bite, alignment, and treatment goals. Dr. Copeland uses the scan to map tooth movement across the entire course of treatment before any trays are produced, allowing the projected outcome to be reviewed with the patient at the start. Cases vary in length depending on complexity, typically ranging from six to eighteen months, with new trays issued at scheduled intervals and progress checked at periodic in-office appointments.

Invisalign is appropriate for many cases of crowding, spacing, and mild to moderate bite issues in teens and adults, though severe skeletal discrepancies or complex tooth movements may require traditional braces or a combined approach. The aligners are removed for eating, drinking anything other than water, and brushing, which simplifies oral hygiene during treatment but requires consistent wear of twenty to twenty-two hours per day to stay on schedule. At the conclusion of active treatment, retention is managed through custom retainers to maintain the corrected position.
